"Welcome to the Responsibility section of our website.

I hope that in looking at this section you will see that Responsibility has been at the core of Land Securities for many years and covers much more than you probably thought.

You will see that it is a central day-to-day part of our business whether it be in helping the communities near our properties, developing new technology to make buildings more energy efficient or being the sort of company that people want to work for.

We believe companies should act responsibly. We also believe that Responsibility works best when it makes a difference for everyone - including the company and our shareholders. We also strongly believe that every action we carry out must be commercially sound and make a difference because only then can it truly be sustainable.

So what you will see in this section is that we don't just do responsibility to be nice. We do it because it makes us a better business and because we can and should.

We have four key areas where we focus our CR activities on.

Our Environment, Our Communities, Our People and Our Marketplace, which covers our customers, suppliers and investors.

And within this section you will see a range of examples of how we are putting our beliefs in these areas into practice.
