Our property team is responsible for maximising the value of our portfolio by managing assets effectively and looking for every opportunity to add value. That involves recommending sites for purchase, appraising existing assets, identifying the right time for selling or leasing, and exploring financial partnerships, joint ventures, co-ownership and bespoke deals. These are the decisions that keep our business at the forefront of one of the world's most competitive and fast-moving property markets.

Land Securities is also unusual in that we manage the majority of the properties we own. That gives us a much closer appreciation of the way properties perform for customers in the long term. Our property team is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of our buildings, continually re-evaluating their role within the portfolio. On a day-to-day level, that involves constant monitoring and support, covering everything from utilities supply to cleaning systems, IT infrastructure to lifts and escalators. The size of our portfolio and length of time we have been in business means we have become past masters at solving problems and identifying areas for improvement.
