New Street Square, EC4

New Street Square is the cornerstone of our vision for Midtown|. In the heart of this high-powered commercial district, just south of Holborn Circus, you will come across a sudden oasis of tranquillity – an attractive square lined with cafés and restaurants. Five buildings cluster around the main square, which is softened by trees, water features and an innovative 'green wall', planted with shrubs, ferns and grasses. Over 64,000 square metres of office space is divided into flexible spaces on a human scale, creating new homes for businesses such as Deloitte, Speechly Bircham, Taylor Wessing and the Carbon Trust, among many others.

The entire development marks a real transformation for this area, but one entirely in keeping with its history. The plan restores the old pedestrian routes, courts and alleys that once characterised the site, but were lost in the Blitz. Events such as our Great British Summer| have also restored the area's sense of vitality and community. On one level, they are a great way to increase footfall for our retail and leisure customers. The bigger picture is to add to the sense of energy and excitement that is already emanating outwards from New Street Square.
